Santa Catarina is a small village in the west of the island of São Tomé in the Lembá district in São Tomé and Príncipe . The village is located about 30 kilometers west of the capital São Tomé on the western coast of the island. According to official estimates, Santa Catarina had a population of around 1,000 in 2005, with much of the population living in rural areas. There is a small school and a church in Santa Catarina. The village is attached to the road that connects São João dos Angolares and Neves .
Santa Catarina is named after a small river that runs along the village nearby.
