Santa Cristina is a former municipality ( freguesia ) in the district ( concelho ) of Mesão Frio in northern Portugal . The community had 808 inhabitants on an area of ​​5.15 km² (as of June 30, 2011).

The municipality was one of the two municipalities of the small town ( Vila ) Mesão Frio (São Nicolau was the second). The medieval stake ( port .: Pelourinho ), the eponymous church Igreja de Santa Cristina and the Franciscan monastery Convento de Varatojo are located here.

As part of the territorial reform of September 29, 2013 , the municipalities of Santa Cristina, São Nicolau and Vila Jusã were merged to form the new municipality of Mesão Frio (Santo André) .
