Santa Rosa is a city in Uruguay .
geography
It is located in the northern part of the Canelones Department in sector 13 . Santa Rosa is located east of the department capital Canelones , southwest of San Bautista , southeast of San Antonio and north of Sauce . The Cuchilla Grande extends east of the city from north to southwest . In the north, the Arroyo Canelón Grande flows from east to west about two kilometers away . This left tributary of the Río Santa Lucía is fed about three kilometers west of the city by the Bach del Cementerio on the left, after the latter had previously formed the southern outskirts of Santa Rosa upstream.

On May 15, 1925, Santa Rosa was classified in the "Villa" category by Law No. 7,837.

With the Liceo de Santa Rosa "Dr. Loreto Daniel Vidart" founded in 1952, Santa Rosa has a secondary school ( Liceo ). In 2008 399 students were taught at the school.

Both the Ruta 6 and a railway line with a local train station run through the city .
