Santiago Mele , full name Santiago Andrés Mele Castanero , (born September 6, 1997 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .
Career
society
The 1.82 meter tall goalkeeper Mele has played for the Centro Atlético Fénix youth teams since 2011 . He has been part of the squad of the first division team since the Clausura 2014 at the latest and was there in April of that year for the first time in the matchday squad, but without being used. Mele finally made his debut with the Montevideans on August 30, 2016 in the Primera División , when he was ordered into the starting line-up by coach Rosario Martínez on matchday 1 of the 2016 season in the 1-0 home defeat against Club Atlético Cerro . During the 2016 season he was used six times (no goal) in the league.
In September 2017 Mele moved to the Turkish Süper Lig to Osmanlıspor FK and was awarded to the second division club MKE Ankaragücü just one day after his move . In six months, however, he did not appear in a league at Ankaragücü, so he loaned him to the Spanish third division club UE Lleida on January 26, 2018 .
National team
Mele made four caps for Uruguay's U-18s in 2015 . He was also a member of a pre-selection for the Uruguayan U-20 national team .
