Mehmet Yiğit (born June 24, 1991 in Gaziantep ) is a Turkish football player .
Career
Mehmet Yiğit was born in the southern Turkish provincial capital Gaziantep and began playing club football at the age of thirteen in the youth of his home club Gaziantepspor . In 2008 he received a professional contract from his club, but initially played exclusively for the second team. In order to allow him match practice, he was loaned out to third division club Şanlıurfaspor in the 2009/10 and 2010/11 season. There he became a regular player straight away, played 43 games in the two seasons and scored three goals.
For the 2011/12 season he returned to Gaziantepspor. So far he has had an assignment for the professional team, on January 12, 2012 when Gazientepspors lost in the Cup against Çaykur Rizespor , otherwise he plays for the reserve team.
In the summer of 2012, he dissolved his contract with Gazientepspor and moved within the city to the second division Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyespor . Here he only played the first half of the season for Gaziantep BB and spent the second half of the season at third division Hatayspor .
In the 2013 summer transfer period, he moved to Karşıyaka SK within the league . For the 2015/16 season he moved to the second division side Elazığspor and played here until December 2019.
