Sanyang (name variant: Selikene ) is a town in the West African state of Gambia .

According to a calculation for 2013, around 6534 inhabitants live there, the result of the last published census from 1993 was 4435.

geography

Sanyang is located in the West Coast Region , Kombo South District , about two and a half kilometers from the Atlantic coast and about ten kilometers from Gunjur . After Brikama the distance is about 13 kilometers.

The cape on the coast is called Sanyang Point . To the south of it is the sandy Sanyang Beach .

Culture and sights

In Sanyang, sacred stones are known as a place of worship under the name of Berewuleng .
