Sara Ishaq

Sara Ishaq (* in the 20th century ) is a Yemeni film producer who received an Oscar nomination for her work Karama Has No Walls .

Life

Sara Ishaq studied at the University of Edinburgh , where he obtained a Master of Fine Arts in directing , in 2008 was followed by a diploma in " Documentary Filmmaking " (about: production of documentary films ) of the British London Academy of Radio, Film and TV . During her time in Scotland she says:

Ishaq's first major work, Karama Has No Walls , deals with the Arab Spring , in particular March 18, 2011 , when 52 civilians were shot by state snipers , and the subsequent upheaval in the public sphere of the protests in Yemen 2011/2012 . Her next film, The Mulberry House , then deals with the consequences of the uprising in domestic scenarios for the inhabitants of Yemen, especially with their own families.

Since Yemeni women hardly come into contact with sport and are often not allowed to visit fitness studios , she teaches yoga on site in order to emancipate women .
