Sara Shane

Sara Shane (* 18th May 1928 in St. Louis , Missouri as Elaine Sterling ) is an American actress , entrepreneur and author . In the 1950s and 1960s Shane starred in more than 20 films and television series. Since retiring in 1964, she has been in the alternative cancer treatment field and goes by the name Elaine Hollingsworth .

Life

Sarah Shane made her film debut in 1948 under her real name Elaine Sterling in small roles in the musical Easter Walk produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer . Small appearances in films like The Imperfect Lady and Neptune's Daughter followed . After her film contract expired in 1949, Shane took a five-year hiatus before moving to Universal Pictures in 1954, where she got her first major role as Valerie in The Wonderful Power that same year .

Sara Shane's best-known roles include Oralie McDade in 1956 Western Poker with four women at the side of Clark Gable and Eleanor Parker and as Angie in Tarzan's greatest adventure from 1959. She also appeared as a guest actress in television series, including 1961 in an episode by Perry Mason .

After retiring from her career in 1964, Sara Shane gave up her stage name and was henceforth Elaine Hollingsworth. She had taken the last name from her ex-husband. Hollingsworth settled in Queensland , Australia , and became director of the Hippocrates Health Center , which specializes in the controversial alternative cancer treatment. She is also active as a book author and published books on alternative treatment methods in addition to a 1974 novel called Zulma . Hollingsworth is the director of the Hippocrates Health Center to this day (as of 2018) .

Elaine Hollingsworth was married to businessman William I. Hollingsworth Jr. from 1949 until their divorce in 1957 and had a son.
