Sarah Gabi Schönenberger (born August 13, 1978 ; resident in Niederbipp ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Life and work

Sarah Gabi Schönenberger grew up in Aarwangen and Langenthal . From 1995 to 2000 she attended the state teacher training college in Langenthal, in 2010 she completed her second training, a law degree , at the University of Bern with a Master of Law . From 2000 to the present day she has repeatedly been employed as a teacher at various grade levels. From 2009 to 2011 she worked at what was then the Federal Office for Migration (now the State Secretariat for Migration ). From 2005 to 2008 she also worked for the Berner Stattland association (drama), which offers historical tours. She is a mother of three and is also artistically active. In 2011, Sarah Gabi Schönenberger set up the Schwarzenburg family meeting place, which she managed until the end of 2019.

Sarah Gabi Schönenberger's political focus is on health, family, social, educational and environmental policy. She has been a councilor in the canton of Bern since 2013 . There she is a member of the Health and Social Commission (GSoK) and is a substitute member of the State and Foreign Policy Commission (SAK) and is also a permanent member of the Interparliamentary Conference Northwestern Switzerland (IPK). Until 2018, she was also a member of the standing committee on voting explanations. Since 2014 she has been a member of the board of the Association of Bern Day Schools (VBT). She was also a board member at Pro Juventute Kanton Bern until 2019
