Sarah Gillespie

Sarah Gillespie (* in London , England ) is a British - American singer, songwriter, guitarist, author and painter. Their music combines jazz , folk and blues .

biography

Sarah Gillespie, the daughter of an American and a British woman, was born in London and grew up in Norfolk . During numerous stays in Minnesota she got to know the music of Bessie Smith , Bob Dylan , Cole Porter as well as the early blues and jazz. At the age of four she composed songs on the piano, at 15 she began to play the guitar. At the age of 18, she went to the United States , where she performed on the streets and in clubs.

Back in London, she earned degrees in film and literature, as well as politics and philosophy from Goldsmiths College , London. During a performance with Ian Dury's band The Blockheads at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club , she met saxophonist Gilad Atzmon , who wrote her albums Stalking Juliet (2009), In the Current Climate (2011), The War on Trevor (2012) and Glory Days ( 2013) produced.

Sarah Gillespie is also a political article writer and painter.
