Sarah Siegel-Magness

Sarah Siegel-Magness (* 1974 in Colorado as Sarah Siegel ) is an American entrepreneur, film producer and director .

Life

Sarah Siegel is the daughter of Mo and Peggy Siegel, the founders of Celestial Seasonings Tea . After high school, she attended the University of Colorado's School of Business . She initially worked for EMI World Records in New York, but in 2001 she founded her own clothing line So Low for upscale retail.

At 30, Sarah Siegel-Magness was nominated for the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Young Entrepreneurs Organization (YEO), an organization she is committed to.

Together with her husband Gary Magness , she founded the film production company Smokewood Entertainment. So far, Magness has produced the films Tennessee (2008), Precious - Life is Precious (2009), Judy Moody and the Cool Summer (2011), Crazy Kind of Love (2013) and Weepah Way for Now (2015) . She also made her directorial debut with Crazy Kind of Love . Along with Lee Daniels and her husband, she won in 2010 for Precious the Stanley Kramer Award of the Producers Guild of America , the Independent Spirit Award and Black Reel Awards .
