Sarah Zierhut , b. Austmann (born January 31, 1985 in Greven ) is a German basketball player .

Life

She began her basketball career in 1993 at TVE Greven. In 1999 she moved to Oberhausen to join the New Basket Oberhausen . There she trained twice a week and also twice a week in the men's team at UBC Münster. In the 2003/04 season she and her team were third in the 1st women's basketball league . In 2004 Zierhut graduated from high school Augustinianum in Greven and then moved to BG 74 Göttingen . She studied sports science in Göttingen. In 2006 she moved to Sardinia and played for the top Italian team Terra Sarda Alghero. For the 2007/08 season she moved back to New Basket Oberhausen in the German 1st Bundesliga.

In 2007, the 1.78 m tall player, who is deployed in the positions of build-up ( guard ) and wing ( forward ), was appointed to the German national basketball team for women . Her first international match in the A-Team she played on August 22, 2007 in Gdynia at 47:70 against the national team of Poland . She was a player in the German national team at the 2007 European Championship in Chieti ( Italy ). In the years 2008 to 2011 Zierhut was reappointed to the national team and played in preparation for the European Championship qualification and in the qualifying games for the European Championship. In total, she completed 95 full international matches and scored 710 points.
