Saraipali is a city in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh .

The city is part of the Mahasamund district . Saraipali has the status of a Municipal Council . The city is divided into 15 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census it had 20,043 inhabitants, of whom 10,212 were men and 9,831 women . The literacy rate in 2011 was 84.8%, above the national average. Hindus make up the majority of the city's population with a share of around 87%. Muslims form a minority with a share of around 8%.
