Sarpi ( Georgian სარფი , Turkish Sarp , Lasish Sarpi ) is the northern part of the divided border village in Georgia , in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara , in the municipality of Chelvachauri .

Sarpi is located on the Georgian - Turkish border at an altitude of 0 to about 155 meters directly on the coast of the Black Sea . Most of the inhabitants belong to the Lasen people . Most of the Lasen resident in Georgia and outside Turkey live in Sarpi. The neighboring town in Turkey is Sarp . The village of Gonio just to the north is a popular seaside resort in Georgia .

In Sarpi / Sarp there is a border crossing on the European route 70 .
