The Sartang ( Russian Сартанг ) is the 620 km long, right or eastern source river of the Jana in Siberia (Northern Russia , Asia ).
course
The river arises in the Verkhoyansk Mountains . Near its headwaters, the mountains rise up to 2,295 m. From its source the Sartang flows in a northerly direction to Barylas , to unite further north between the Verkhoyansk Mountains in the west and the Tscherski Mountains in the east just above Verkhoyansk with the Dulgalach to form the Jana .
The landscape at the Sartang is dominated by boreal coniferous forests (taiga) .
