Sascha Fischer (born December 24, 1971 ) is a former German rugby union player .
Fischer came from volleyball to rugby and initially played for DSV Hannover 78 before he finally moved to France and worked there as a professional for many years. He played in the renowned Heineken Cup for CS Bourgoin-Jallieu . Until 2009 he was a player in Le Bugue AC in Fédérale 1 . At 2.08 meters, the second-row striker is one of the tallest players in European rugby. In the German national rugby team , Fischer played 27 international matches. He was characterized by robust style of play, quick-wittedness and overview of the game.
