Then from 2005 to 2008 Stowasser was entrusted with management tasks at Bosch Rexroth AG. Since 2008 he has been the director and executive board member of the Institute for Applied Work Science e. V. (ifaa) in Düsseldorf. In addition, Stowasser has been an adjunct professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), formerly University of Karlsruhe (TH), since 2009.

Research topics and positions

Stowasser's current research tasks are

Again and again he speaks about the opportunities of networked and artificial intelligence for the world of work. "The world of work in companies is also experiencing revolutionary changes. AI instruments or learning (work) systems are developing work world 4.0 into work world 5.0. Is work world 4.0 the focus of networked digitization and the flexibilization of work place, time, organization and Freedom of action, so the working world 5.0 is enriched with intelligent assistance, learning robots and user-optimized provision of information. For the employees, the use of AI means even more flexibility, more demanding activities, individually adapted information and relief from monotonous routine activities. " On the other hand, Stowasser is counting on a fundamental debate that takes into account both the enormous advantages of AI and the humane aspects of its use. Work should not be designed in such a way that "the employees are only appendages of AI".
