Menhirs by Sassi Ritti

The Sassi Ritti ( German  upright stones ) are four menhirs in the Pietra Murata near the village of San Piero in Campo , part of the municipality of Campo nell'Elba , and near the necropolis of the Villanova culture of Lo Spino in the west of the Italian island of Elba .

The four non-image, roughly rectangular menhirs with different heights below two meters are an approximately north-south oriented row of monoliths , as they are decorated on Corsica ( alignment by Stantari , alignments by Palaggiu ) and undecorated on Sardinia ( Pranu Muteddu ) occurs. They were reported by Raphael Foresi to the responsible paleontologist in Portoferraio in 1867 , but he did nothing. Burials and tools made from Sardinian obsidian from Monte Arci have been found nearby in the past .
