  • The municipality of Campo nell'Elba extends over the south and south-east slopes of the Monte Capanne massif to the sea. The well-signposted hiking routes around Monte Perone , which is a worthwhile excursion destination at 630 m above sea level, are very suitable for hiking . It is a mountain covered by pine trees with a magnificent view of the entire archipelago and the Tyrrhenian coast.
  • On the way there are the ruins of the nearby Chiesa di San Giovanni in Campo . Only the outer walls remain of the church. Not far from it was the 7th century hermitage of San Giovanni.
  • Below the church, visible from afar, rises the Torre di San Giovanni , a defense tower from the 11th century, the time of the Pisan rule. He stands on a huge granite block. The tower, popularly known as the Torre della Regina ( Queen's Tower ), was built to control the sea route on the Piombino Canal and the adjacent sea. It was once part of a line of watchtowers within sight that exchanged defense information. After its capture and destruction, it was the tower that dominated the Gulf of Campo for centuries. It was restored and fortified in 1995.
  • The mountain villages of San Piero in Campo and Sant'Ilario with their picturesque alleys and views over the plain of Campo are worth a visit .
  • The municipal capital Marina di Campo has the longest sandy beach on the island with a length of approx. 1.4 km. Its old town as well as its shopping center are worth seeing. On the edge of Marina di Campo you will find the Acquario , an exhibition of living Mediterranean fauna.
