Satomi Shibata ( Japanese 柴 田 里 美 , Shibata Satomi ; born July 9, 1985 ) is a Japanese soccer player . Alongside Yūki Ōgimi (formerly Turbine Potsdam ), Kozue Andō and Asuna Tanaka (both 1. FFC Frankfurt ) and Saki Kumagai (formerly 1. FFC Frankfurt), the full-back is one of the few Japanese women who played in the women's first division .
Career
Shibata started her career in school with the Ciencia women's soccer team, which belongs to the private Musashigaoka College in Yoshimi, Saitama . In 2002 she switched to JEF United Ichihara Chiba , where she gained her first senior experience. She played for JEF United for four years before signing with the Urawa Red Diamonds in early 2006 . She played for the Urawa club for four years before joining AS Elfen Sayama FC. In her second season 2011/2012 she was team captain of her team. After three years in Saitama for AS Elfen, she announced her move to Germany for FCR Duisburg in July 2013 . In Duisburg she played 8 games for the second team of FCR Duisburg in the Regionalliga until January 2014 and scored 1 goal. After FCR Duisburg was accepted into the men's football club MSV Duisburg in January 2014 after filing for insolvency , they moved with most of the team to Meidericher SV. There she made her Bundesliga debut for MSV Duisburg against VfL Sindelfingen on February 23, 2014 . In summer 2014, she turned her back on MSV Duisburg and returned to AS Elfen Saitama.
