Satoshi Shiki

Satoshi Shiki ( Japanese 士 貴 智 志 , Shiki Satoshi ; born November 20, 1970 in Kasugai , Aichi , Japan ) is a Japanese manga artist .

Life

Shiki did not do any professional training as a draftsman, but taught himself to draw at school age. He joined a manga club in middle school that brought out its own dōjinshi magazine. He made his debut as a professional manga artist with a few short stories that appeared in the manga magazine Comic Genki , a supplement to New Type magazine published by Kadokawa-Shoten .

His first longer work was the series Riot , which also appeared there and was later published in the form of two edited volumes. The breakthrough Shiki with his next work, the manga Kamikaze , which from May 1997 to April 2003 in by Kodansha released becoming Afternoon appeared magazine.

After completing this series, the artist resumed his work on Riot under the title Riot of the World . This appeared on Shueisha's Ultra Jump magazine. He also worked on some shorter stories like Min Min Mint , which was featured in the Afternoon sister magazine Afternoon Season Zōkan . The draftsman created the character design for the anime series Hikari to Mizu no Daphne, which was broadcast in 2004, and published the manga I: Hikari to Mizu no Daphne based on this from 2004 to 2005 in Young King Ours magazine . From 2007 to 2011 he released XBlade and then from 2011 to 2013 XBlade + . The former was summarized in 12 and the latter in 9 anthologies.

More recently, he has also been hired for manga adaptations of novel series, such as Persona × Tantei Naoto by Natsuki Mamiya , which in turn is based on the computer game Persona 4 , and Shingeki no Kyojin: Before the fall by Ryō Suzukaze , which in turn is based on the manga Shingeki no Kyojin based by Hajime Isayama .

Shiki continues to work as an amateur draftsman and brings out dojinshi, such as Skin from 2000 to 2003 .

Planet Manga published Min Min Mint and Kamikaze in German.
