Saulius stoma

Saulius Stoma (born July 29, 1954 in Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian politician, writer and publicist .

biography

After graduating from high school in 1972, he completed his diploma studies at the Faculty of Architecture at Vilniaus inžinerinis statybos institutas in 1977 . As a student he wrote the first novellas; one of them was published in 1976 in the weekly " Literatūra ir menas ". From 1977 to 1978 he worked as an architect in Vilnius . In 1979 he married and then lived in Kaunas; there he was a research associate at the Research Institute for Construction and Architecture. He wrote the dissertation in architectural history on Lithuanian manors. From 1981 he lived again in Vilnius and worked as a scientific editor at Vyriausioji enciklopedijų redakcija. From 1988 he was a correspondent and then department editor at "Literatūra ir menas". He became a member of Sąjūdis and from 1989 a council and board member of Lietuvos krikščionių Demokratieų partija . In 1990 he founded the weekly “ Šiaurės Atėnai ” with Arvydas Juozaitis and Saulius Šaltenis and was co-editor. Then he was editor-in-chief of “ Lietuvos aidas ” until 1994 , then a columnist at “ Lietuvos rytas ” and from 1996 to 1997 the editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper “ Lietuvos žinios ”. In 1997 he was sentenced to imprisonment and served to prison. From 2008 to 2012 he was a member of the Seimas .

From 2008 he was a member of Tautos prisikėlimo partija .
