Osman Savaş Erol (born January 1, 1951 in Adana ) is a former Turkish football player and coach. He played a large part of his career for Adana Demirspor and was involved in the final of the Turkish Cup of the 1977/78 season , the greatest success in the club's history.

Player career

Erol started his professional career in 1975 with the first division club Adana Demirspor . Already in his first season he won a regular place and was the most successful goalscorer of his team with eight competitive goals despite his defensive playing position. In the 1977/78 season he surprisingly reached the final of the Turkish Cup with his team . During this time he was also first U-21 and then A national player in his country.

After losing his regular seat in the last two seasons, he left Demirspor in the summer of 1983. His further career is undocumented.

National team

Erol's national team career began in 1978 with a commitment for the Turkish U-21 national team . In the same year he was nominated for the first time for the squad of the Turkish national team as part of a friendly against Italy by national coach Metin Türel and completed his first international match in this game. In the same year he came to his second and last A international match.

Overall, he completed one U-21 and two A internationals.

Coaching career

From 1992 to 1993 he worked at Adana Demirspor as an assistant trainer. From the summer of 1993 he looked after Ceyhanspor as head coach for about half a season .
