Savarkundla is a city in the Indian state of Gujarat . It is a twin city that was created by the merger of the cities of Savar and Kundla.

The city is part of the Amreli district . Savarkundla has the status of a Municipality ( Nagar Palika ). The city is divided into 12 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census, it had a total of 78,354 inhabitants, of which 40,586 were men and 37,768 women. Hindus form the largest group of the city's population with a share of approx. 81%, followed by Muslims with approx. 18%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 79.44%.

Savarkundla is known for making scales . A third of the total population is associated with this industry. It is the only manufacturer of mechanical scales in India. It is also increasingly developing into an assembly center for electronic scales.
