Savo Ekmečić
Savo Ekmečić (born May 9, 1948 in Mostar , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a former Yugoslav football player and football coach .
Career
Ekmečić began his career as a goalkeeper at FK Sarajevo and moved to Grazer AK in the summer of 1977 . He played 269 competitive games in the Austrian first division without interruption until 1985, making him the record goalkeeper in Graz. In 1981 he won the Austrian Cup with the GAK by beating Austria Salzburg in the final . In 2002 he was voted “ Player of the Century ” among the Graz athletes in a public vote. His trademark was and is the knee-length “Ekmečić pants”.
From 1990 to 1992 he trained the Grazer AK. In the spring season 1997 he was a coach at DSV Leoben .
The Graz Derby
