The Saxum Nunatak is a 430 m (according to the UK Antarctic Place Names Committee 455 m ) high nunatak on the West Antarctic Joinville Island . It rises 10 km north of Mount Tholus on the north side of the island. From the south it looks dome-shaped, while its north flank consists of a striking rock face.
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out surveys in 1954. The name is derived from the Latin saxum for rock .
