The Scapaniaceae are a moss family from the class of the Jungermanniopsida .
features
The representatives of the family have keeled flank leaves. They are differently deep divided into two mostly unequal sized, entire to dentate lobes. The lower lobes are always larger than the upper lobes. Sub-leaves are not formed. The perianth protrudes from the bracts. Brood bodies are common.
Systematics
The Scapaniaceae family comprises two subfamilies with three genera and 120 species:
- Subfamily Diplophylloideae
- Diplophyllum with almost 30 species
- Douinia with a species
- Subfamily Scapanioideae
- Scapania with about 90 species
