The Scar Bluffs are three black, rectangular and steep-walled cliffs in the East Antarctic George V country . They rise up 43 km south of Cape Hudson on the Mawson Peninsula .

Aerial photographs were taken during the US operation Highjump (1946–1947), in 1958 during a Soviet Antarctic expedition and in 1959 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it after the acronym for the S cientific C ommittee on A ntarctic R esearch (short: SCAR).
