history

After the band Hatesuffocation was founded in 2001, released two EPs and split up in 2006, their members decided to found a new group under the name Scarab that same year. After a first EP was released in 2007, the group recorded their debut album Blinding the Masses in 2009 . In the same year the group also played at the German With Full Force and the Dubai Desert Rock Festival. After the album was self-released in the same year, the release of the next album Serpents of the Nile was planned for 2011 , but this has still not happened. Since 2009 the group has been under contract with Osmose Productions , which is where the debut album was re-released.

style

According to Aly Hassab El Naby from chroniclesofchaos.com , the band on Blinding the Masses process influences from various death metal bands such as Morbid Angel , Behemoth , Cannibal Corpse and Nile . The band grab ancient Egyptian sounds and processed and their subject matter, as the symbol ankh , in their songs.
