Coordinates: 27 ° 59 ′ S , 152 ° 59 ′ E The Scenic Rim Region is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Queensland . The area is 4252 km² and has about 40,100 inhabitants.
geography
The region is located in the southeast corner of the state on the border with New South Wales about 55 km south of the capital Brisbane .
The largest city and administrative seat of the LGA is Beaudesert with around 6000 inhabitants. history
Today's Scenic Rim Region was created in 2008 from the Boonah Shire and parts of the Beaudesert Shire and Ipswich City.
administration
The Scenic Rim Regional Council has seven members. Six councilors are elected by the residents of the six divisions (constituencies). The council chairman and mayor (mayor) is also elected by all residents of the region.
