Schönebecker Straße 52 is a listed residential and commercial building in Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located on the west side of Schönebecker Strasse in the Buckau district of Magdeburg in a corner north of the confluence of Neue Strasse and Schönebecker Strasse.

Architecture and history

The four-storey brick building was built in 1890 by the architect and master mason St. Grochowitz. The owner was the reindeer Otto Modesky. The corner situation is emphasized by a flat corner riser . In front of the flattened corner there is a four-story box bay in front of the upper floors. On the top floor of the bay window, which is already at roof height, it is designed as an open loggia.

The brick facade is structured by bands and patterns made from dark glazed bricks. The facade facing Schönebecker Strasse has nine axes. The two axes on the right edge emerge as a flat risalit, but their original facade design has not been preserved. The roof area is also no longer presented in the original design. The window openings on the first floor are designed as round arches with striped lintels. On the second and third floors there are flat blind arcades within which the window openings are spanned by segmental arches.

In the local register of monuments , the residential and commercial building is listed as a monument under registration number 094 82624 .

The building is considered to be important in terms of urban development and is an example of a tenement house from the Wilhelminian era .
