Schönreuth

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Schönreuth was a planned municipality in the southern district of Karlsruhe , which should have been created in the early 1970s during the regional reform in Baden-Württemberg through the merger of the four municipalities Schöllbronn , Schluttenbach , Spessart and Völkersbach . The community would have had about 6,000 inhabitants if it had come into being.

In 1972, however, Spessart decided against the project and became part of the large district town of Ettlingen through an incorporation agreement .

Then the other three remaining churches tried to find an agreement in order to be able to unite.

When the Völkersbach municipal council spoke out against Schönreuth in the same year and decided to incorporate it into Malsch , although the majority of the Völkersbach population was in favor of merging into the Schönreuth municipality, the project was shelved .

In 1974, Schöllbronn and Schluttenbach joined the large district town of Ettlingen through a voluntary merger.
