Federal Chess League 2011/12 (Switzerland)

The 2011/12 season of the Swiss Bundesliga in chess saw a duel for the title between ASK Winterthur and defending champion Valais, which the Winterthur-based company won thanks to the victory in a direct comparison.

SC Lyss-Seeland was promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga . This achieved relegation, while Nimzowitsch Zurich had to relegate. With Valais and Basel BVB, two clubs withdrew their teams, so that this year three clubs were promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga. Promotion game to the 1st Bundesliga

After Valais announced his retirement, the promotion game between the two winners of the second division seasons, SG Riehen and SC Bodan , was canceled , and both teams were promoted directly. Since Basel BVB later withdrew its team, a promotion game between the two runners-up in the second division seasons, SC Kirchberg and SG Zurich, was scheduled for the free starting place , which took place on June 9 in Kirchberg . Kirchberg won this promotion game 4½: 3½.
