Schalders ( Italian Scaleres ) is a village in South Tyrol and a fraction of the municipality of Vahrn . The village is located at an altitude of around 1150  m in the Schalderer Valley , a side valley of the Eisack Valley in the Sarntal Alps . Schalders has a little less than 300 inhabitants and can only be reached by motor vehicle via the valley road that starts in Vahrn.

The village consists of a small center, in which the parish church of St. Wolfgang and a primary school are located, as well as farmsteads scattered on the southern slopes of the valley. Bad Schalders is located directly on the Schalderer Bach , which was once known for its iron-rich water, which was ascribed medicinal properties.
