Shamgar ( Hebrew שַׁמְגַּר) is one of the judges of the Old Testament .

In the Book of Judges , Shamgar is only mentioned briefly: “After him ( Ehud ) came Shamgar, the son of Anat. He killed six hundred Philistines with an ox pizzle , and he also saved Israel. ”( Judg 3,31  LUT ) Besides this mention, his name is also mentioned in Judge 5,6  LUT . In the order of the judges, Shamgar follows Ehud and after Shamgar follows Deborah .
