1. Book of Samuel

Tola ( Hebrew תּוֹלָע) is one of the judges of Israel who are mentioned in the Book of Judges ( Judg 10,1  EU ).

According to the biblical record, Tola was Abimelech's successor . He was the son of Puwas and grandson of Dodo of the tribe of Issachar . He lived in Shamir in the mountains of Ephraim , where he was buried after his death. He judged Israel for 23 years. Of all the biblical judges, Tola is the least recorded in the Bible. The Book of Judges does not mention any of his actions. All that can be learned is that Tola has been replaced by Jaïr from Gilead .
