Schardorf

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Schardorf is a village in the municipality of Trofaiach in Styria .

The place is located northwest of Gai , but the associated cadastral community extends into the populated area of Gai and Töllach . Schardorf lies at the foot of the Reiting, the main peak of which (the G Größeck) is the highest point in the Eisenerzer Alps. . Until 1939 the place was called Scharsdorf , on May 9th 1939 the Governorate of Styria informed abar that the place name is now Schardorf. The reason for this was the establishment of the National Socialist youth hostel Rheinlandhaus , although the old place name seemed inappropriate to the rulers.

In 2018, with the active participation of the population, a leisure facility was built that enables football, beach volleyball, basketball and handball games and also has a play area for small children.

The Gasthaus Reitingblick is located in the center of the village.
