Treffning is a place and a cadastral municipality in the municipality of Trofaiach in the Leoben district , Styria .
The village is located in the Trofaiach basin and is drained by the Vordernberger Bach , a left tributary to the Mur . On January 1, 2020, the village had 114 inhabitants.
history
The earliest written evidence is from around 1300 and is "Trevench". The name goes back to Slavic trebiti (to clear).
