The Scharffenbergbotnen is a cirque in Heimefrontfjella in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In the Sivorgfjella this mountain basin lies between the Bergersenfjella , the Torsviktoppen , the Wrighthamaren , the Engenhovet and the Gerhardsennuten .
Scientists at the Norwegian Polar Institute named it in 1967 after Johan Scharffenberg (1869-1965), a psychiatrist and activist of the resistance against the German occupation of Norway in World War II .
