Schatz Ridge is a 1.5 km long mountain ridge in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . In the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains, it rises 1.5 km northwest of Knutzen Peak in the Taylor Ledge . The mountain ridge appears as a nunatak with two peaks, of which it protrudes more easterly 200 m above the ice masses surrounding it.
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2006 after Gerald S. Schatz, editor of the magazine of the National Academy of Sciences , author of numerous publications on the environmental situation in Antarctica and advisor to the United States Antarctic Program .
