The Schaubach rises in the Odenwald north of the Schaubacher Berg near Groß-Bieberau . It flows into the Gersprenz north of Groß-Bieberau .
In the area of the Schaubach estuary, part of the Gersprenz has been renatured. A second arm was built to the right of the river bed, which is now the main arm of the Gersprenz. The Schaubach flows into the original river bed, which is more or less dry depending on the weather.
