The Scheidplatz is a place in the Munich district of Schwabing-West .

It is located on Belgradstrasse / Scheidplatz underground station . In the west bordering Luitpoldhügel of Luitpoldpark on.

Scheidplatz was created between 1958 and 1959 as part of the extension of tram line 12 from Kurfürstenplatz in the direction of Georgenschwaige with a connection to Kölner Platz and is named after Karl Friedrich Scheid (1906–1945), most recently senior physician at Schwabing Hospital .

A Christophorus figure, erected by Alexander Fischer between 1969 and 1972, stands on Scheidplatz , not far from the fountain in Luitpoldpark that he created and destroyed during World War II. Before that, there was a plaster version of the work of art in front of the Haus der Kunst .
