The building at Schelztorstraße 19 is a converted factory building in Esslingen am Neckar . It originally housed the Boley & Leinen precision machine tool factory .

History and description

The machine tool factory was founded in 1904 by Josef Leinen.

In 1905 the factory building in the Schelztorstraße as was masonry in brick - masonry , designed by the architect Esslinger Hermann Falch built. The four-storey, five- axis street facade with large windows is structured by colossal pilasters and mostly faced with orange-yellow clinker bricks. The pilasters bear drop capitals of stone and hide in some vertical exhaust ducts in the vase-like fireplace superstructures above the eaves. The parapet areas between the pilasters are loosened up by simple, geometric clinker plaster ornamentation.

Hermann Falch also built the historicist villa at Kollwitzstrasse 16 for the manufacturer Josef Leinen.
