Schenckendorff (noble family)
The von Schenckendorff / Schenkendorf family is a noble Prussian family that has survived to this day.
Origin and history
(Also written v. Schenkendorfstraße or v. Schenck village) The family of Schenckendorff is from the Lower Lausitz derived noble family of the Brandenburg-Prussian Uradels . It first appears in a document in 1313 with the 'dominorum nobilium Othtonis et Henrici pincernarum' (= donation) de Schenkendorp. Since 1315 the family owned the Schenkendorf family estate near Guben . The secured trunk line begins with Wolff von Schenckendorff 1571, landlord on Schmöllen near Züllichau . The family was a typical Prussian landed noble family, which provided the Prussian crown with numerous officers up to the ranks of the general.
