history

The company was founded in Rolle in 1893. In 1915 Arnold Schenk took over the regional wine trade at the side of his father-in-law Albert Rolaz and subsequently acquired large wine domains in the canton of Vaud , including Château de Châtagneréaz in Mont-sur-Rolle , Château de Vinzel and Domaine du Martheray in Féchy . In 1945 Schenk introduced the Grapillon grape juice brand .

Arnold Schenk, who died in 1962, handed over management to his eldest son Pierre in 1953. He had to resign from his office in 1982. The background was the attempted assassination of his wife Josette Schenk to resolve a ten-year divorce conflict . Pierre Schenk was subsequently sentenced to ten years in prison, but was pardoned after two years and four months. The management has since been taken over by his younger brother Andre. The three siblings, Pierre, Andre and Marie-Anne Bach-Schenk, got into a long-standing dispute over the inheritance that was never properly resolved.

In 1996, Marie-Anne Bach-Schenk's son-in-law Filippo de Simone took over the management. Andre Schenk, for his part, died in July 1997 while walking through the woods. The police found it to be an accident.
