Schibek Scholy ( Kazakh Жібек Жолы ; Russian Жибек Жолы ) is a metro station of the Almaty Metro . It was opened on December 1, 2011 as part of the first construction phase of the metro.

location

The station is located in the central district of Almaly and extends underground in a north-south direction under the Nazarbayev Prospect between Gogol Street and Schibek-Scholy-Prospect. The Park of 28 Panfilowzy with the Ascension Cathedral and the Kazakh-British Technical University are located near the station .

description

The platform is 104 m long and 19.8 m wide. The station is 30 m deep and has a central platform with a single exit at the southern end of the platform. From here, stairs lead to a corridor from which escalators lead to a mezzanine. From there an exit leads to the surface on the south side of Gogol Street. The walls of the station are clad with beige marble and decorated with traditional Kazakh ornaments. The floor is covered with granite and also decorated with traditional ornaments. On the northern wall of the station there is a motif made up of two circles showing motifs from the Silk Road .
