The Schickeberg Tunnel is a 1,430 m long railway tunnel on the high-speed line Hanover – Würzburg . It is located southwest of the Obergeis part of the Hessian community of Neuenstein .

The structure crosses a forest area and, among other paths, the federal motorway 7 .

After a short above-ground section, the cold sand tunnel joins north . In the tunnel there is a track change with four switches from the Kirchheim depot, which is adjacent to the south .

history

The structure was planned at the beginning of 1984 with a length of 1400 m. Construction should begin in January 1986 and be completed in February 1988. The calculated costs were 37.9 million DM.

The structure was planned in the mid-1980s with a length of 1463 m. It was in planning section 15 in the middle section of the new line.

The tunnel was put into operation in 1991 as part of the new Göttingen – Kassel section.
