The former Rittergutshof Schiebelau belongs to Sulza in the Saale-Holzland-Kreis in Thuringia .

geography

The former Rittergut Schiebelau is located south of Sulza on a slightly higher plateau between the Saale and Rodaaue in an eastern corner of the forest. To the east of these manor buildings, allotments were laid out in the last century .

history

On June 17, 1316 a person was named who named himself after Schiebelau. It can therefore be assumed that the place already existed at that time. In 1322, another clergyman named Schiebelau was named. The place itself was first mentioned in 1378 with the resident Albrecht Buler. Originally, Schiebelau was a regular farming village, which then went under and was converted into a manor. The first verifiable owners were probably the Lords of Würzburg. The number of verifiable manor owners is still incomplete. In 1815, Carl Gottlob Esche (born December 19, 1787 in Limbach in Saxony) is the heir, feudal lord and court lord of the Schiebelau manor. He is the son of Johann Samuel Esche, owner of a hosiery factory in Limbach in Saxony. Around 1820 the manor was in the Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg . It had its own church, which belonged to the parish Großbockedra in the superintendent of Orlamünde. The insurance value of the castle and church is 6,400 thaler. The castle included lands and extensive forests, as well as the right to under-tax income from the village of Sulza, which belonged to the estate. In 1823 the manor was broken up. In 1838 the Esche family was named as the owner of the Schiebelau patrimonial court . The patrimonial court belonged to the Amt Kahla and included the higher and inheritance jurisdiction over Schiebelau and Sulza. The court administrator for the Esche family was the lawyer and town clerk August Wilhelm Hermann Lindner in Orlamünde. From 1855 to 1880 it was von Helldorf. After the Second World War , this company was expropriated. After German reunification , an agricultural cooperative looks after the country.
