The shipyard of Cölln in Hamburg is a shipyard in Finkenwerder that has existed since 1767 , built ships until 1974 and since then has mainly carried out repairs, conversions and extensions.

history

The shipyard was founded by the Dutch boat builder Hinrich von Cölln (on today's Von-Cölln-Weg ) whose successors in the eighth generation are Henri and Jörg von Cölln. Giek-Ewer , Ewer , Schooner , Besanewer and Galeassen were built until 1880 . One of the early ships was the Kuff Johannes. After that, motorized fishing trawlers also came into being .

During the Second World War, small hydra- speed boats were built. The boats were about 13 meters long, displaced about 7.5 t and reached a speed of 36 knots. They were armed with two stern torpedoes.

Assault boats were built for the Bundeswehr around 1960. Later, HADAG harbor vehicles or ferries were reconditioned or Alster steamers were overhauled at the Köhlfleet main dike .

The shipyard celebrated its 250th anniversary in 2017.
