Schinderhannes-Soonwald cycle path

The in Hunsrück preferred Schinderhannes Soonwaldsteig cycle track is 16 km long and extends substantially in the vicinity of the route of the 1963 disused railway line of simmering according Gemünden . This cycle path is the consistent, but not consequently signposted, continuation of the Schinderhannes cycle path between Emmelshausen and Simmern ; in contrast to this, the Schinderhannes-Soonwald cycle path could not be implemented everywhere on the former railway line, as major parts of the route have already been dismantled and used for other purposes become. It was completed in 2003 and opened for cyclists, skaters and walkers. The path was named after Johannes Bückler called Schinderhannes

geography

The bike path initially runs steeply through fields from Simmern to Riesweiler , then it runs through an idyllic meadow valley parallel to the Brühlbach and Lametbach over Tiefenbach , Mengigart to Gemünden . The Soonwald borders the bike path directly to the south, and there are numerous opportunities for experienced cyclists to drive up to the Soonwald heights.
